Devlog 001: Making sng-mia Feel a Little More Human

Hi, welcome to the first devlog for sǹg-miā 算好命.

For a while, most of our work has gone into the parts visitors usually only notice when they break: chart calculation, article structure, and stable AI reports. Necessary work, but quiet work. If you land on the site, use a tool, read an article, and leave, you may not realize there are people behind the scenes nudging things into place and trying to make Zi Wei Dou Shu easier to approach.

That is why this little corner now exists.

It is not meant to be a formal announcement channel, and it will not pretend every update needs a manifesto. Think of it more like the notebook sitting beside our desk: sometimes a note about a feature that just shipped, sometimes a product decision we went back and forth on, and sometimes a small fix we are unusually happy to have cleaned up.

Why start a devlog?

A lot of traditional Zi Wei Dou Shu websites end up feeling like reference shelves: stars, palaces, chart patterns, annual luck cycles, and a lot of specialist language. Useful, yes. Warm? Not always.

Most people do not come here because they want to memorize terminology. They come because something in their life needs language, structure, or another way to look at it.

That has shaped how we build the free chart, the learning hub, and paid reports. The tools need to be dependable. The writing needs to be grounded. But the voice matters too. A reading should feel clear enough to use, not so stiff that it sounds like a database talking back.

Through this devlog, we want to make some of that behind-the-scenes thinking visible. For example:

• Which articles are we rewriting, and what made us decide they needed another pass?
• Which chart-reading or checkout flows have quietly become smoother?
• Which new features are still being tested before we are ready to put them in front of everyone?
• How do we balance Zi Wei Dou Shu expertise, AI-assisted analysis, and the way the writing lands with real readers?

What are we working on lately?

Right now, three things keep coming back to the top of the desk.

Making articles easier to read: Articles are not only for search engines. They also shape a visitor's first impression of the site. We are cleaning up categories, improving search, and trying to make each article feel less like scattered notes and more like a calm conversation with someone who understands Zi Wei Dou Shu.

Making reports more useful: A report can be long and still leave you with nothing. The useful version is the one where you finish reading and know what to take with you: the main point, the context, and a few practical ways to think about the situation. We are reworking the report structure so those pieces support each other instead of competing for attention.

Tuning the voice: If a reading sounds too absolute, it can make people anxious. If it sounds too vague, it becomes filler. The tone we want for sǹg-miā is practical: the chart is a meaningful reference, but people still have room to choose, adjust, and change.

How will this category be updated?

We are not turning this into homework. There is no weekly quota, and we are not going to publish just to keep a streak alive.

The pace will be simple: when the site changes in a way worth recording, or when a product idea finally becomes clear enough to share, we will write it down here. Some entries may be short. Some may turn into longer reflections.
