It started as a shortcut
My thinking was simple. If a model can draft documents and dig through research, it can probably handle this too. It is a rule system, after all.
It could not. The language was fluent, but it was not casting a chart — it was producing something chart-shaped. Leap months, the boundary hours either side of midnight: it never flags any of that. It just keeps going, sounding certain.
So the chart gets built before the AI sees it
I have been reading these systems since I was a student — Zi Wei Dou Shu, Ba Zi, tarot. Zi Wei Dou Shu came first here because it behaves most like software: twelve palaces, a few dozen stars, fixed rules for how the Four Transformations travel.
So the order is reversed. The system calculates the chart, and only then does the AI get involved. What it receives is not your birthday. It is a finished chart.
About the name
sǹg-miā is how you say fortune telling in Taiwanese Hokkien — roughly sng-mia. The sǹg part also means to play.
I like that overlap. Reading a chart should not feel like bracing for bad news. Learning what sort of person you are is not the same as being handed a verdict.
Machines calculate, the AI just explains
No model touches the calculation. Lunar conversion, hour boundaries, where each star lands — all of it runs on fixed rules. If it comes out wrong that is a bug, not a model having an off day.
Once the chart is settled, the structured result goes to the AI, which turns the terminology into something you can actually read.

Ba Zi and tarot are next
Zi Wei Dou Shu is only the first. Ba Zi, tarot and Western astrology are all on the list, but each one has to be taken apart rule by rule, so it will not be quick.
Something I kept coming back to while building this: most people who look up their chart want time to think a problem through with someone. The answer matters less than that.
